Agloco just died;

“We would like to update you on the status of AGLOCO’s operations. We continue to believe in the AGLOCO concept, but our revenue is currently not sufficient to give Members a meaningful distribution. And though there are increases in membership, the resulting revenue is not enough to support operating costs. As a development team we are unable to continue to use our savings to fund the operations. If any Member would like to pursue continuing the operations of AGLOCO, you may contact us at agloco1@live.com .

We would like to thank every Member for supporting our effort to bring a piece of the Internet directly to the user. We hope that we can find a way to keep the operations going.

techcrunch article

yes - it is doooomed. wait, that was last year. no, it is still doomed! I just love their get out clauses about why they won't issue shares to you at all - no really, go read their page on "shareandcash" and get it through your head that what they really mean is "we will use every trick we can think of - including local regulations and share laws - to find reasons NOT to issue you shares"

nice to see that human nature has not changed and that people are still ready to rip off their friends right to privacy in search of a quick buck aglocotest shows that people are making up numbers, using click-BOTS and doing everything they have always done in these pyramid / multilevel scams. And they are all scams.

reminds me of that scamware that BEBO used to spam me from my friends email address lists by asking for rights to search their hotmail and yahoo mail address books - if you get a referral from one of these scams send your "pal" a message like this:

"dear friend YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO SELL **MY DATA** or infringe on my privacy."

If you want to get paid for your friends surfing, go work for an ad-agency!

Mus, I wrote this on April 14th 2007 (check the date). Back then agloco had promised and broken about a dozen self-imposed deadlines for release. Eventually they did release a very buggy and incomplete viewbar. Not that it really matters. The whole thing is crumbling before our very eyes.

How is it a pyramid? What do Agloco users have to lose? It is free to sign up. It's just like saying that anybody that uses Google toolbar is involved in a pyramid scheme. Why? Well, because there is a spot on the toolbar that you can use to search Google.

So...I can use something similar to Google toolbar for free that I don't even notice anymore...with the possibility of making money. Oh wow, sounds risky! I better uninstall this thing ASAP.

[...] I’ve been seeing a lot of Agloco referral posts and sites for quite some time now and my curiosity has led me to search ‘agloco scam’ in google to check its credibility. I’ve found these two posts (’What Everyone Ought to Know About Agloco‘ and ‘Agloco: The Beginning of the End‘), both of which are a must read for everyone who would consider joining in on the so called easy money Agloco offers. “AGLOCO’s early revenue will not immediately translate into cash distributions to Members. While we do not know how large our initial revenue will be, we do know that AGLOCO has operating costs to pay.[…] As such, the cash payouts will not begin until there is a comfortable balance between AGLOCO’s free cash flow and AGLOCO’s expenses.” From the above mentioned site and from Agloco’s blog as well.
[...] Considering today’s cut-throat competition regarding eyeballs, I will not be surprised if such data will be sold to third-party merchants. The Trader’s Narrative has an excellent opinion piece on the AGLOCO scheme and why exactly it isn’t what it says it is. His update post ominously signals the beginning of the end for AGLOCO. That said, there are other analytical pieces on the web that say otherwise. I am inclined to believe the former though especially since the latter website seems suspicious. [...]
