If you are like most guys out there, you can not bring yourself to just walk up to a beautiful woman and start talking to her. Necessity being the mother of invention, there is now a whole industry of coaches, seminars and books, all claiming that they can take your average frustrated chump and turn him into a pick-up artist.
Not surprisingly there are quite a few blogs out there dedicated to this art. I’m not sure how, but a few days ago I stumbled on one called Approach Anxiety, and I was quite impressed with both the design and the content. Check it out.
One of my brothers is a brief therapist who can work wonders. He has helped thousands of people stop smoking in one session; has dispelled phobias and fears in people; has helped people lose weight without dieting. In short, what he does would probably get him arrested for witchcraft had he been born a few hundred years ago. So I forward him the AA blog and he shoots me an email with the most devious little strategem. I was wide mouthed at the simple brilliance and effectiveness of it. No need for a whole blog or book. Just one little exercise. I guess that’s why its called brief therapy.
I wish I could reveal what he devised to annhiliate approach anxiety. Unfortunately I’m sworn to secrecy. When he does give me the go ahead, I will share it. I would love nothing more than to help all the frustrated guys out there that look longingly at beautiful women and do nothing.
Actually, these days I feel like I’m signing NDAs all over the place. Just yesterday Tony Oz gave me huge news about his future plans. But I’ve given my word that I won’t share it either.
PS: if you are a guy and haven’t yet, go get the book ‘The Game’ by Neil Strauss from the nearest bookstore. Do it now.
