[...] Finally, I wonder what this means for the gold market. While Russell has been bearish on the market, he has been staunchly bullish on gold. I wonder if this means that he has also changed his mind about that. [...]

Babak,

Sure, let's check in again in a few months. Who knows, maybe I'll be crying golden tears. :)

Tom,
since I approach things from a TA point of view, I don't really care about the fundamental reasons like GDP, stagflation, etc... We'll see in a bit how things pan out. Please drop by and remind me in case I forget to do a follow-up.

i have to disagree with you. Sure the technical picture might agree with your theory but fundamentally we have situation where the average guy is feeling inflation with crappy job prospects. Add onto this 1.3% GDP growth and $65 oil and we got the beginnings of stagflation. With our weak political position in the world, I'm surprised that Gold isn't at $1000. Perhaps the market gremlins are keeping gold down low, because $1000/oz gold would really freak people out.

Still though, my outlook for Gold is bullish and I'm a prudent buyer. Yep, this is what makes a market, I'm buying what you're selling! :)

Optimists would look to the higher lows as increased demand! Although you are in good company; Jack Chan on his Stockchart list has a sell signal for XAU and HUI

As for the general market - what a pain in the ass. Too high to buy, but look at those gains.

Grrr...

Best wishes,
